Car Matters

If public transport is convenient for you, DON'T BUY A CAR!!!

After the accident, dad say I should change the car ownership to my name. Why didn't I change the ownership once I got the car 2 years ago? Because the insurance policy has NCB of 55%, and if I change ownership I won't be able to enjoy the NCB. The insurance claim after the accident was troublesome as it involved aunty Joyce (the previous owner). We got charged for assessment as the driver was different from the policy owner. So since the insurance has no more NCB, better if I transfer the ownership.

So finally I went to Puspakom to get my car examined for ownership transfer purpose. The whole process took me about an hour. For the benefit of others, this is the procedures:
  1. I went to the Puspakom branch in Glenmarie about 8am. (Remember to bring your car registration card)
  2. I reached there around 8.10am, the security asked me to queue my car at the back of the building. Although Puspakom opens only at 8am, there were already 2 cars in the line. Not sure about other branch, but the Glenmarie branch has only 2 inspection counters.
  3. Take a number from the security siting at the back, and proceed to the clerk to get the form for ownership transfer. (Different branch provide different types of inspections. The Glenmarie branch only provide Ownership Transfer, Financing, Auction..)
  4. Pass the car registration card to the clerk and she'll fill in the form. Have to pay RM30 bucks.
  5. Pass the car key to the inspection officer. The clerk passed me a form and asked me to give it to the officer. Then I can wait at the waiting area.
  6. The inspection only lasted for like 20 minutes. They only checked the engine and chassis serial number, and the tint.
  7. After the inspection, the officer will drive the car out from the inspection counter and I have to repark the car somewhere outside coz have to wait for the report.
  8. I waited for another 30 minutes for the report. Once the report is done, they will call the car plate number and the report can be collected from the office.
  9. Check if all the details are accurate. Then you are done. :)

The Puspakom report only valid for 1 month. Have to go to JPJ to do the name transfer before it expires. Both seller and buyer need to sign the documents, so if you are the buyer, make sure the previous owner has their part of the documents done before you go to JPJ. Before that have to get wang pos of RM100 from post office. I haven't got mine done. I'll be heading to JPJ tomorrow.

My car has just went thru a major fix of its life. Changed tyres, aircond belt, timing belt, engine belt, oil leakage, brake fluid leakage, dented rim due to last accident, and dunno what else. (Friend said it's common for lady driver =.=) Now my car can fly dy, but the bill cost me 1.6k :(

We Were Just Too Late - Tenji Finally

When we first heard about Tenji, a new Japanese Buffet Restaurant, opened in Solaris, Mont Kiara, it was all about heavenly food.
"With over 200 dishes"
"I have lost count on the number of sweet coconut drink I had. Yes, they are free flow and you can have as many as you want."
"Imagine our excitement when the sight of the big fat juicy fresh oysters lying on the bed of ice welcomes us the moment we stepped into the dining area."
Ref: http://preciouspea.blogspot.com/2008/12/tenji-japanese-buffet-solaris-mont.html
Finally I had the chance to go and try out the 'heavenly' restaurant last week when Tenji was having a lunch promo for RM49.90++ during weekday. After much persuasion, I got my sis and few other close friends to go together. My, it was far from being heavenly.

First, I don't think it has over 200 dishes, at least I think that the conventional Japanese chain has more variety of food. Next, the sweet coconut wasn't really free flow as it went out of stock after my friends had 2 servings (I only had 1). The restaurant replaced with the normal coconut after that. Next, the oysters weren't big fat and juicy, and 1 of my friend claimed that it wasn't really fresh. As I wasn't a big fan of oyster, I didn't wanna try them. The oyster section was always empty anyway. Besides the sweet coconut and oyster, the salmon sashimi, being a high demand dish, was also out of stock quite frequently. My friend went to the section few times came back empty handed. (I did manage to get quite alot though)

I was also disgusted with the cleanliness in the restaurant. First the cutlery was not cleaned properly with food stain still sticking on them. Then the plates were not dried up properly with water still dripping from them. (I'm a person who dislike my utensils to be wet).

Despite the food shortage problem, the food overall was not too bad, fresh prawns were fresh, salmon sashimi was good, the waffles were nice, and Lifern said the cod fish was good too. The best of all, good times with friends.

If you ask me if I want to come back to Tenji, I don't think I will. I might want to try Jogoya again since the last time I went I was not feeling quite well so my reviews do not justify and I heard they have improved alot.

Old Song, New Sing

Ok the title sounded so cina. Whatever~

I was listening to MyFM the other day (I listen to them almost everyday anyway), and they were running a string of promo for 方大同 (Khalil Fong). One of the songs that caught my attention. A very old song, a new style of singing. I like.

Another one, by Joanna Wang. She's only 21. I like too.

Be Grateful

I have always remind myself to be grateful. Although it's just a small gesture other people offers, accept it with a grateful heart and with a smile, say thank you as often as you can.

Every morning mom will prepare breakfast for us, sometimes lunch as it's expensive to have lunch at my work place due to the location. She don't really have to as I'm old enough to take care of myself. I'm grateful and every morning I'll say thank you before I leave for work.

Most of the time when I goes to work, grandma or uncle, sometimes mom will wait at the gate and help me to close the gate so that I don't have to get down to close it (my house doesn't have an automatic gate). They don't really have to but yet they will still wait for me to drive out my car and help me to close the gate. I'm grateful.

At work, sometimes when I needed help carry heavy boxes, or when I was busy doing packing of stuffs, my colleagues will stuck their heads out and ask if I needed help. I'm grateful for the help they offer.

These are the little things happen in life. Offering a help, a ride, an advise, even a call when you think they might need it, is just a small gesture of kindness.

Sometimes I wonder, what do I get if I offer my help to other people? Will they appreciate it? Taking me for granted? Well, I don't wanna know. Although sometimes I do feel disappointed or sad when people are not appreciative, but then what can I do? Forget about it? Or continue doing what I believe? I think I'll choose the latter.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

These are the gals in our youth group. It was a random idea that came across my mind when they were having fun at the beach during church camp. "Hey gals, come let's do something I wanna take photo", I said. "Jump as high as possible, raise up your hand and do as exaggerate as possible, ok?" They kept on jumping and jumping, I think ppl around us must be thinking that this bunch of gals are crazy. We really had fun, especially when they threw Jean into the sea, and Joyce was grabbing my legs so tight when they wanna throw her into the sea. That's the good part of holding expensive stuffs like camera, phone and wallet lol.

After almost all the gals in the water, they turned their target to May. May said: "no need, I'll go in myself" XD

How Could I Live

How could I live without You
How would I survive
Without Your love
Without Your touch
You're the One that heals me
And cleanses my heart
And sets me free

Now I come right before You
With my hands lifted up
And my heart humbly bowed
At Your work on the cross
As You hung there and die
You were paying the price
For my life, For my life

For Your love is higher than the heavens
is deeper than the seas
And all I want is You in my life
No one else can satisfy my soul
Can make me feel this way
Only You Lord, only You

Everytime I listen and sing this song, I'll be so moved by the beautiful lyrics. Tears will just flow thinking of the love God has shown in my life. You don't have to know why, don't have to understand, you just need to believe.

Jez says it all.
